About us
Welcome to the Denver Community for Emotionally Focused Therapists (DCEFT). We are a community of psychotherapists trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy as developed by Dr. Susan Johnson.
DCEFT was founded in 2011 with the goal of bringing together local EFT practitioners in a supportive and mutually encouraging peer community. In order to build and expand the EFT Community, the founders launched the first official DCEFT meeting in Fall 2011. Because EFT is, by definition, focused on emotion, we recognize that the well-being of EFT clinicians is crucial to effective clinical practice. DCEFT is here to contribute to that well-being.

Denver Community for EFT Founders
DCEFT was founded by Lia Jones, LMFT, Bev Tuel, Ph.D., and Priscilla Zynda, Ph.D. This small group were among the first Denver area therapists practicing Emotionally Focused Therapy. They began meeting informally as a way to support one another in their practice and learning of EFT. As interest in EFT grew among other professionals, the group expanded in a grassroots manner, eventually becoming the Denver Community for Emotionally Focused Therapists. The Denver EFT community continues to evolve to meet Denver's need for attuned, responsive, and engaged EFT therapists.
GET IN TOUCHOur community is built by us and for us. We would love to hear from you about ways we can evolve to meet your needs. Have an idea for a training topic or do you want to present at a meeting? Is there something that you enjoyed and want more of? Drop us a line! We also welcome volunteers who would like to get involved or are looking for ways to connect.
